About Geiger Counter Shop

Geiger Counter Shop is an independent online shop that sells a single product: a yellow pocket Geiger counter. We explain what it does, where our information comes from and where its limits are.

Orders are open, and this page describes the shop and its product as they are today.

An independent shop with one product

We are an independent reseller, not the manufacturer of the counter and not a brand's own shop. We chose to sell one device and to describe it precisely: a glass Geiger-Muller tube, listed by the supplier as a J321 type, a 2.4-inch colour screen, dose rate in µSv/h, counts per minute, cumulative dose, a trend graph and two adjustable alarms.

Orders are sent free from stock in the United Kingdom for UK buyers, and from stock in the United States for US buyers, with no customs step. Customer service works by email only, at contact@r36s-console.com, with an answer within 24 business hours. The shop is aimed at curious people, collectors of uranium glass and minerals, hobbyists and travellers.

Where our information comes from

Everything we publish about the counter comes from the manufacturer's spec sheet, the supplier listing and public sources, read on 28 September 2026. We have not run a hands-on test ourselves, and we say so. Manufacturer figures are labelled as such: a dose rate range of 0.01 µSv/h to 50 mSv/h and an energy response of 48 keV to 1.5 MeV.

We always give battery life both ways: the manufacturer states 30 days or more in long-life mode, while an independent test reports about 5 days in normal use. That test also measured about 20 counts per minute at background. The counter detects beta, gamma and X-rays but not alpha, and it has no Bluetooth and no app.

What the counter is, and is not

This is a consumer radiation detector for general information only. It is not a calibrated measuring instrument, not personal protective equipment and not a radon test, and its readings are indicative. If you see an unusually high or persistent reading, move away from the source, do not handle the object and contact the UK Health Security Agency or your local authority. In an emergency, call 999.

Old objects such as uranium glass, some old uranium-glazed pottery and radium dials can make a Geiger counter react when held close. Keep them intact, never take a radium dial apart, do not serve food or drink in them and wash your hands after handling. If one breaks, ask your local authority how to dispose of it. Official reference figures from the UK Health Security Agency and the EPA are given as context only.
