Terms of sale

These terms apply to orders placed on the UK shop of Geiger Counter Shop. They cover what we sell, how prices and payment work, how delivery is handled and what the counter's readings can and cannot tell you.

Orders are open, and these terms apply to every UK order placed today.

Scope, product and prices

These terms cover purchases made on the UK shop for delivery in the United Kingdom. We sell one product: a yellow pocket Geiger counter with a glass Geiger-Muller tube, a 2.4-inch colour screen, dose rate in µSv/h, counts per minute, a trend graph, two adjustable alarms and a built-in 1,800 mAh battery charged over USB-C. The box holds the counter, a USB-C cable, the manual, an inspection slip and warranty card: no charger, case, lanyard or test source.

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT and free delivery. The price that applies is the one displayed when you confirm your order. We run no promotions and show no crossed-out prices. Product information comes from the manufacturer's spec sheet, the supplier listing and public sources, all dated, and we describe the counter only from those sources.

Ordering, payment and delivery

You order by adding the counter to your basket and paying on a secure Stripe payment page. Accepted methods shown there include Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link, depending on your device. Your card details never reach this site. Once payment is confirmed, you receive a confirmation email with the details of your order.

Your order is prepared within 1 to 2 business days after payment, then delivered in 2 to 5 business days from a UK warehouse, free and with no customs step. These times are indicative, not a guaranteed date. If we cannot send your order within the stated time, we tell you by email and offer you the choice to cancel for a full refund. Returns follow our 30-day return policy, on top of your statutory rights.

What the readings mean

This is a consumer radiation detector for general information only. It is not a calibrated measuring instrument, not personal protective equipment and not a radon test, and its readings are indicative. If you see an unusually high or persistent reading, move away from the source, do not handle the object and contact the UK Health Security Agency or your local authority. In an emergency, call 999.

The counter detects beta, gamma and X-rays; it does not detect alpha. On beta sources the µSv/h figure runs high because the tube has no beta shield, so read the counts per minute instead. Do not heat, pierce or leave the battery charging unattended, charge it only with a 5 V USB supply, keep the counter away from water (no water resistance rating is published) and remember it is not a toy.
